"The Water Wisdom: Understanding the Right Way to Stay Hydrated"
Has anyone ever thought that there’s a proper way to drink water? I never did. I always thought drinking water meant gulping down as much as I pleased. But when I drank water, I felt pressure along with urination. That means water was not being absorbed properly, it was just being passed out through my urine. I never thought about it. Then I shared it with my trainer. They said I might be drinking water wrong. I was quite surprised.
The correct way to drink water:
- Add a pinch of salt to a glass of water and drink it.
- Sip water slowly.
- Drink water half an hour before or after meals.
- Don’t drink water while walking or standing. We can’t properly filter the water when standing. And if the kidneys can’t filter water properly, we might experience various health issues. So, sit comfortably and drink water slowly.
- Avoid drinking cold water from the fridge, drink lukewarm water. If not, you can add ice cubes to the water.
When to drink water:
- Drink plenty of water according to thirst. Following the concept of drinking plenty of water, even if you’re not thirsty, is not correct. The right rule is to drink water when you feel thirsty.
- Drink water on an empty stomach in the morning.
How much to drink:
Generally, 2.5 to 3 liters of water per day is sufficient.
Stay hydrated, stay healthy.
