Push-ups are a very important exercise. Initially, it wasn’t an easy exercise for me at all. I had to gradually master it by starting with the simple steps. When you start difficult things with small, easy steps and practice them daily, they no longer remain difficult; over time, that difficult task becomes easy. Among all the exercises, push-ups were the hardest for me. I’ve included push-ups in my daily exercise routine, and now I find them much easier and enjoyable.
Many people make mistakes with push-ups by focusing on quantity—how many push-ups one can do—rather than quality. Even if you do five quality push-ups, it’s beneficial. But if your form is incorrect, even a large quantity of push-ups won’t be useful. This exercise is very effective for everyone as it primarily works the chest, shoulders, triceps, core muscles, and involves the arms, wrists, and legs.
Push-ups can be a suitable exercise for our bodies and help us achieve our fitness goals. Push-ups not only improve our body but also enhance our brain function.
How to Start Push-ups:
* If you are a beginner, you can start with “wall push-ups.” Once you become comfortable with wall push-ups, you can move on to a slightly more difficult variation like “bench push-ups.” Once you find this easy, you can advance to “knee push-ups,” which reduce the load by doing push-ups from your knees instead of your toes. When this becomes easy, you can then start regular push-ups.
* From simple push-ups, you can gradually advance to more challenging ones. This will increase your strength and make it much easier for you.
1. No Equipment Needed : Push-ups can be done anytime, anywhere, as they don’t require any equipment.
2. Improves Functional Strength : Push-ups strengthen our joints and bones, thereby increasing our work capacity, energy, and strength.
3. Flexibility : Push-ups increase flexibility. When lowering the body, our back muscles are well-stressed, and when pushing back up, our back muscles are stretched, making them more flexible.
Benefits:
4. Boosts Mental Focus: Regular push-ups improve our focus capacity.
5. Reduces Stress : Push-ups help reduce our stress levels by releasing endorphins and feel-good hormones in our bodies.
6. Strong Bones : Push-ups make our shoulders and other joints stronger.
